Viewers Criticize Romance on Daily Dose of Sunshine!
Many viewers have been criticizing the romance on Daily Dose of Sunshine. They believe the Netflix Kdrama went out of the main subject (mental health) multiple times focusing on the love triangle between Jung Da-eun, Dong Go-geun, and Song Yoo-chan.
Daily Dose of Sunshine on Netflix is a touching South Korean web series directed by Lee Jae-kyoo and starring Park Bo-young, Yeon Woo-jin, Jang Dong-yoon, and Lee Jung-eun.
Based on Lee Ra-ha‘s Kakao webtoon of the same Korean title, which draws on her experiences as a former nurse, this series brings to life actual stories from the medical field. This K-drama shares the themes of personal journeys, resilience, and a strong female protagonist in the narratives.
While Daily Dose of Sunshine primarily focuses on mental health, it also showcases romance between the protagonist of the show and two other characters. And we’ve found that many viewers have been not satisfied with their romance. Well, let’s discuss it in detail.
Romance on Daily Dose of Sunshine: What Went Wrong in the Netflix Show?
One criticism of Daily Dose of Sunshine derives from the romance aspect. Jung Da-eun is our brave female protagonist, and the show establishes a love triangle between her, a finger-snapping doctor named Dong Go-geun, and Da-eun’s childhood friend Song Yoo-chan early on.
For a while, it’s written fairly nicely… until it’s not. The entire thing fizzles out, and it’s almost as if the writers recognized they didn’t want it to overshadow the series’ message, so it’s soon pushed to the back burner.
Some viewers are claiming that the romance between Da-eun, Go-geun, and Yoo-chan was unnecessary.

Both Go-geun and Yoo-chan start having feelings for Jung Da-eun. While Yoo-chan doesn’t wait long to confess his love, Go-geun tries to express his feelings multiple times but fails to do so. Meanwhile, Yoo-chan and Go-geun get closer every day.
Later, Go-geun and Da-eun finally express their feelings for each other. They both confess how much they’ve missed each other. However, they do not get into romance immediately. They do not become an official couple until the final episode of Daily Dose of Sunshine.
On the other hand, many viewers have expressed their dissatisfaction with the love triangle. Many have claimed that the show must have focused more on the primary subject i.e. mental health than their romance.
Will There Be Season 2 of Daily Dose of Sunshine?
As of this writing, Netflix has not renewed Daily Dose of Sunshine for a second season. Given the ratings over the weeks, it’ll be fascinating to see whether they renew this for a second season.

Netflix uses a range of indicators to determine if a show is renewed, including completion rate and minutes seen. Despite their high ratings, Korean dramas are rarely extended for a second season.
That has improved in recent years thanks to Netflix Originals, but given the sheer quantity of talent in this that will undoubtedly move on to other projects, we predict that Daily Dose of Sunshine will not be renewed for a second season.
Right now, little is known about Season 2. Given that most Korean dramas have only one season, it’s unusual to see these shows renewed. With the exception of the ongoing Netflix series, this one appears unlikely to be renewed.
There is obviously room for this to grow and change, and we could either follow a different character as they deal with their panic problem, or we may see all of our characters return with new episodic cases to follow.
Daily Dose of Sunshine is now streaming on Netflix.
