A military official told The U.S. Sun it was a false alarm.
"We received notification of an active shooter on the Joint Base. After investigating the incident, it was found that there was no active shooter," a spokesman for the base said.
"We appreciate the public’s concern and thank you for your continued support."
The active shooter alert came in the wake of a mass shooting in Maine that has killed 18 people and injured at least 13 others.

The shooting spree at a restaurant and bowling alley started just before 7 pm on Wednesday.
Police are actively searching for Robert Card, 40, who they say is armed and dangerous.
Card has been charged with eight counts of murder, however, that number is expected to rise as more victims are identified.
Card is believed to be a trained firearms instructor in the Army Reserve stationed out of Saco, Maine.
Card was last known to be operating a 2013 white Subaru Outback with a black bumper.
Maine State Police have asked anyone with information on the shootings or Card's whereabouts to call 207-213-9526 or 207-509-9002.
