The Microblading Healing Process Is Ruining My Life
Eyebrow microblading is a glorious gift that has literally changed my life. While the results — perfectly arched and defined brows that last for up to a year — are amazing, no one talks about the downside of microblading, namely, the aftercare.
The thing is, there are quite a few rules when it comes to eyebrow maintenance, and they're not always the easiest to follow. So if you ruined your microblading — or maybe just think you did — don't despair. Know that your brows will take some time to heal before you see the final results. However, if you're still not satisfied after two weeks, schedule a follow-up appointment with your brow specialist who can work on any corrections or touch-ups as needed. Most importantly, follow their aftercare instructions post-appointment to make the most of your microbladed blows.

Keep Brows Dry
Your brows must stay completely dry after your microblading treatment. Refrain from swimming and showering (baths are fine) for up to 14 days following your appointment. Sweat can also inadvertently remove pigment, which can lighten brow color. So avoid exercise and other activities that may cause you to perspire.
Although you should be keeping your recently microbladed eyebrows dry, you should cleanse them daily. However, this should only be done by strictly following the instructions provided to you by your brow technician.
Avoid Touching
It's advised to not apply any makeup or skincare products — apart from the post-care cream — on brows for two weeks post-microblading. In fact, keep from rubbing or touching brows completely and definitely do not pick at any scabs that may form.
Because the "wound" from the needle scabs needs to heal, you can't apply pressure to your brows following the treatment — even when it comes to sleeping. Do not sleep on your stomach or side, and don't allow your pillow to come into contact with your eyebrows.
Stay Out of the Sun
To prevent your microbladed brows from fading, avoid direct sunlight. Wear a hat to stay protected from the sun and apply sunscreen — but only after any scabs have fallen off (about two weeks after your treatment).
