In addition to her love of music, her involvement in many areas has made her a woman whose fans will not soon forget her.

Alicia Keys’ Biography

Alicia Keys was born on January 25, 1981 and was given the full name Alicia Augello Cook. Although her family came from a very difficult background and it wasn’t exactly good for her and the neighborhood she lived in was pretty rough, she went to the prestigious Professional Performance Arts School in Manhattan and studied chorus there. She graduated from school at the age of 16 because of her incredible academic achievements. At the time, record company executives were already paying attention to her during her tenure, and in 1998 she finally settled on Arista Records. Columbia University has since accepted her on a full scholarship and she started there but left after just four weeks to pursue music full-time.

Alicia Keys succeeded Clive Davis, then-President of Arista Records, as he left the company to found J Records. She trusted him when he had worked on the careers of the likes of Aretha Franklin. With the new record label, Alicia Keys found the freedom to unleash the full spectrum of her talent in singing, writing and producing, completing the debut album she had been working on for years. Prior to the release of her album and on debut, Davis drew a lot of media attention for her Songs in A Minor (2001) eventually released, going platinum five times.

Songs in A Minor won five Grammy Awards in 2002, with awards for Song of the Year, Best R&B Song, Best R&B Album, Best New Artist and Best Female R&B Vocal Performance. She followed that up in 2003 with The Diary of Alicia Keys , which was also quite successful, winning her a few additional Grammys in Best Female R&B Vocal Performance, Best R&B Album, Best R&B Song and Best R&B -Performance of a group or duo with vocals. Her subsequent albums So Am I (2007), The Element of Freedom (2009) and Girl is on Fire (2012) were also hits and won their Grammy after the other.

Alicia Keys also discovered a talent in acting over the years from a young age when she was four and appeared as one of Keshia Knight Pulliam’s friends on The Cosby Show (1984). However, she made her film debut as Georgia Sykes in 2006’s Smokin’ Aces. In 2006 she took part in the singing competition, The Voice as one of the judges.

parents

Alicia Keys grew up in a single parent household in New York City. Her mother, whose name is Nikki Augello, worked as a paralegal and part-time actress. She raised her daughter alone to give herself every possible advantage she would need to be successful. Alicia Keys, for example, began taking piano lessons at age 7 and her mother didn’t give her a chance to stop, leading to her enrollment and attendance at the prestigious Professional Performance Arts School in Manhattan. The extracurricular activities that Alicia Keys was pushed into by her mother helped her stay out of trouble on the rather rough streets of Hell’s Kitchen.

Her father is a man named Craig Cook, who is a flight attendant. While her mother is Sicilian (Sciacca) and either Scottish or Irish, Alicia Key’s father is African American. He left the family when she was just two years old and the singer has admitted that her father is not in her life and that their parents never had a big relationship. Alicia Keys is always full of praise for her mother and rightly so, as Nikki Augello sometimes worked three jobs to keep her well taken care of. The singer has admitted she learned a lot from her mother’s hard work and dedication.

Family – husband and children

Alicia Keys is married to the talented Swizz Beatz, a hip-hop producer and rapper in her own right. Before her marriage, Alicia Key had been in a relationship with Kerry Brothers Jr. that ended in 2008. After that, her relationship with her future husband began. Alicia Keys has known Swizz Beatz since they were both teenagers. In May 2010, the two announced their engagement and also said they were expecting their first child together.

During the 2010 FIFA World Cup, Alicia Keys and Swizz Beatz held a Zulu ceremony to bless their unborn child. They married in a private ceremony on July 31, 2010. The ceremony took place at a location near the Mediterranean Sea. In October 2010, they welcomed a son whom they named Egypt Daoud Dean. Their second son, Genesis Ali Dean, was born in December 2014. The boys also have a half-brother from Swizz Beatz’s previous relationship named Kasseem Dean Jr.
